Semi-supervised Image-to-Image Translation for Robust Image Registration Henrik Skibbe is a Unit Leader at the RIKEN Center for Brain Science in Japan . His paper is about image registration. He speaks to us ahead of his short oral discussion session today. This work explores the problem of bringing together 2D marmoset brain images from different individuals , where microscopy images from multiple modalities need to be co-registered to get a better picture of the structure of the marmoset brain. The data set includes backlit images, images of Nissl-stained brain sections, and images of neural tracer injections using two-photon (2p) microscopy – where some parts are tagged with the fluorescence in and are visible in addition to the brain structure itself. The problem is that the modalities are quite different . In particular, the neural structure in some parts of the 2p microscopy images does not exist in the Nissl images or is different from individual to individual. 14 Presentation VISION MIDL Backlit and 2p images before (left) and after registration (right) in a checkerboard view
