Fiona Kolbinger is a physician at the University Hospital in Dresden, Germany. She presented yesterday at CLINICCAI. Fiona is also an ultra- endurance cyclist. More than 100 inspiring interviews with successful Women in Science in our archive Fiona! What did you present at CLINICCAI? I presented our new data set that is about to be released in the next few days. We had it accepted as scientific data. It's a data set of laparoscopic images. It's over 13,000 images that we annotated with organ segmentations, intra- abdominal organs and anatomical structures. We also trained neural networks to recognize these organs in laparoscopic view. Our hope is that in the future we may be able to establish some kind of navigation system for laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery. You said ‘ our ’ and ‘ we ” a couple of times, which means you are not alone in these projects. Tell us who is ‘ we ’ ? It's all collaborative work that we do. As I said, I'm a physician.
