9 DAILY MICCAI Tuesday Leo Joskowicz - MICCAI Society of committed and respected individuals with a huge amount of scientific experience. I am very confident that my successor will continue to build on the progress we have already made. The last 18 months or so have been difficult and disruptive in many ways, but at the same time, we have all been motivated to adapt, expand our reach, and grow our activities beyond this flagship conference. We have extended the coverage of our working groups, created a number of special interest groups, and developed a year- round program of events. We want people to see the MICCAI Society as their scientific and professional home, meaning that no matter where we work, teach, or study, we all feel at home here . It is not just about scientific excellence, but also collegiality and inclusiveness. We have had over 100 people organizing events this year and it is that enthusiasm which makes this conference one that people do not want to miss! The fields of medical imaging and computer-assisted surgery are booming , and so many companies are keen to invest in the technology. Gone are the days when we would need to convince surgeons and radiologists that they need computerized tools. This is an exhilarating time to work in this area and the best is yet to come! Have an amazing MICCAI! I would encourage you all to participate in the conference as much as you can and do not forget to become a MICCAI Society member too.
