Welcome to the third and final edition of MICCAI Daily for 2021, published by RSIP Vision . It has been a first-class week with the most innovative and fascinating research that this community has to offer on display. A huge congratulations to everyone involved and a big thank you to the organizing committee for having us! Everyone wants to know if we will have an in-person event next year. It is too early to answer that definitively, but science is winning against this pandemic – we have vaccines now, and although variants are making the transition trickier, some smaller conferences have already been able to return to physical meetings, so things are looking more hopeful. Obviously, the scientific content is the main draw for a scientific conference, but we should not underestimate how important face-to-face social activities are too. This mix is what makes the whole experience so special and presents vital opportunities for young scientists to advocate for their research and themselves. We know it is something that we are all missing terribly . I (Shuo) am a super positive person and as the General Chair for MICCAI 2022, I would say there is a very good chance that we will all meet in Singapore as planned. I am sure I do not need to tell you what a great city and country Singapore is. The conference venue will be the Sentosa Resort , an amazing choice with enough space for 7,000 delegates and plenty of accommodation on-site. We will have full use of the facilities for 5 days and it will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime event for everyone. Although it is still early, we have already began thinking about the program for next year and working on innovations, which ultimately will be guided by the type of conference we are able to offer. Our first clinical day has been a big hit and we already have interest from local radiologists and pathologists who are keen to lead and work on the next one. We will do our very best to create a fresh and exciting MICCAI 2022 for you all when we welcome you to Singapore! If you want to learn more about what you can expect, please come along to my (Shuo) presentation later today . We hope that you enjoy reading this final issue of MICCAI Daily. Keep in touch by subscribing to Computer Vision News and we look forward to seeing you in person next year. Happy reading! Shuo Li General Chair, MICCAI 2022 Assoc. Professor, Western University (Canada) Ralph Anzarouth Editor, Computer Vision News Marketing Manager, RSIP Vision
