MICCAI 2018 Daily - Monday

Good morning MICCAI! Welcome to MICCAI 2018 and your new MICCAI Daily . MICCAI and RSIP Vision (the publisher of Computer Vision News ) have once again partnered to offer our community the MICCAI Daily magazine throughout the conference in Granada . Follow us today, Tuesday and Wednesday for daily news, highlights, and previews from MICCAI 2018! This year, submissions increased by a third. Papers were so good overall that we decided to keep the same acceptance rate , but this means we are faced with the problem of having a three-day conference, but four days’ worth of content! Therefore, we have decided to pilot running a parallel oral session on Tuesday . We have asked participants for feedback on this, because MICCAI is about bringing the medical image computing and computer-assisted intervention communities together, so we don’t want it to feel like we are splitting them up again. 4 Monday Editorial We also have a conference app this year. This allows you to have a personalised schedule, so that you don’t miss anything. The app takes you to the papers and the posters. There are QR codes at every poster stand, so you can scan the QR code and download the paper . It has been a lot of work pulling together such a big conference, but for me (Julia) now, my work is done. We’ve done the proceedings and the program . We’ve got session chairs . We hope all the speakers turn up! It looks exciting on paper, but it’s even more so when you see it in practice, see the venue for the first time, see the posters being put up, and see everything coming together. It’s time starting to feel relaxed after months and months of hard work with Program co-Chairs and Associates - Gabor , Christos , Alberto , Spyros , and Alex .
