MICCAI 2016 Daily - Wednesday
Among the sponsoring companies who exposed their offer yesterday at MICCAI 2016, we chose to visit the Arterys booth, where John Axerio-Cilies was kind enough to tell us what they do. Arterys has developed over the last 5 years a cloud-based post- processing software platform based on machine learning for medical imaging and healthcare big data. They are offering an end-to end clinical experience that involves safely sending de-identified data to the cloud, allowing users to process, visualize, and quantify data in real-time with an interactive web application. When a user is finished with their report, all data is then pulled back from the cloud to PACS. Arterys’ first FDA cleared application, being distributed globally by GE Healthcare as ViosWorks, enables physicians for the first time to visualize and quantify blood flow in the body using MRI for supporting the diagnosis of structural heart disease. Ongoing research at Arterys focuses on using novel deep learning techniques for automated cardiac measurements as well as detection and measurement of brain and lung tumors. Arterys goal is to soon make its platform available to researchers for rapid model development and deployment on any type of medical imaging analytics.
