Simon’s picks of the day: Simon Graham is a PhD student within the Tissue Image Analytics Lab at The University of Warwick, working in the field of computational pathology. He is a keen skier, where he has worked for two winter seasons in the French Alps, and enjoys keeping generally active. “I have recently been spending my time developing automated algorithms for the segmentation of nuclei and glands within histopathology images. In routine pathological practice, accurate segmentation of such structures are of crucial importance because their morphological properties can assist a pathologist in assessing the degree of malignancy. I am motivated to work within the field of computational pathology because developed tools can help empower diagnostic decision making, that can lead to overall improved patient survival.” Simon’s Picks For today, Saturday 7 2 Saturday ISBI DAILY
