ECCV 2020 Daily - Tuesday

2 Women in Computer Vision 2 Pollefeys. Can you tell us a few words about the workshop? I am very excited about the workshop because it is pushing the boundaries of what we have been able to achieve. We have looked at 3-D scenes a lot. We have looked at tracking in time a lot. But this workshop is trying to see if we can connect it all. I’m really excited about our speakers. We have a number of papers accepted as well, so yes, I’m really excited about it. One more message to the world? Yes. I think I’ll finish by saying that I have always been very grateful and lucky to have worked at Google, NEC and JPL, and I have spent quite a few years at Google, first as an engineer, and now as a researcher. I’ve worked with many teams and I’ve always been fascinated by the people there. I’m also truly grateful to be leading my current group, who are amazing people as well. I also want to acknowledge that now is an extremely hard time for some people and highly uncertain for the rest; so I hope that we can, using our knowledge and science, pull through and come out stronger! “… it is a truly special place. What makes it special are the people and their spirit.” DAILY T u s d a y With Tracy Wang, my first mentee at Google, who herself is currently leading a team in Google Search.
