ECCV 2018 Daily - Tuesday

Daily Tuesday 11 Good morning ECCV! Welcome to Tuesday’s edition of ECCV Daily . We hope you will enjoy another issue full of fascinating reports and interviews with your colleagues from around the conference and the computer vision community. This year at ECCV we have already seen some fascinating workshops and there are plenty still to come. After putting out the call for workshop proposals this year, we received many excellent submissions. Workshop co-Chairs Stefan Roth and myself (Laura) selected proposals across a variety of subject areas and a mix of well-established and original topics. This year we have 43 workshops – the highest number ever – another demonstration of the extraordinary success of ECCV 2018 . So many of you have attended the workshops – with many completely full – and the poster sessions have been extremely popular too. It is always a bit stressful before we start, because we want everything to be perfect, but we couldn’t be happier with how things have gone so far. We were a little concerned that people would not have time and space to visit the posters, but we have received great feedback and the workshop organisers have been very happy . A great success all round! We still have an engaging line-up of workshops to come on Friday with some very interesting topics that have not yet been covered . I know that people will be tired at the end of the week with so many days of conference behind them, but I do hope that you will find some energy to visit these workshops on Friday. We promise you will not be disappointed! Please keep reading and sharing the magazine and continue to savour all that ECCV 2018 has to offer!
