Daily Thursday 13 14 I think the one thing you learn is that polite, but firm, honesty is important. Tell me something that you have not yet been able to learn from his style. The speed in which he deals with it… He is amazing in how many things he can handle at once, which is also true for Thomas. Can anyone learn that? I don’t know! I’m trying to. Maybe I should study with him, too. [ both laugh ] What is something of your own that you are bringing to your teaching style? One thing I learned is how to prepare students for parts of the lecture that are going to be difficult. I’m trying to. I don’t know if I’m doing a good job there, but I’m trying to let them know early on what to expect during the difficult parts so hopefully, it will be easier, and they will be prepared. If something is going to be difficult, they might get frustrated. The whole topic is thrilling, amazing, and exciting in many ways. I would love them not to get frustrated about the few parts that are difficult. I try to make things easier by preparing them to expect it. If you had the satisfaction of achieving anything in the future, what would it be? I want to continue doing what I’m doing. So you have it already… Yea, but I don’t have it permanently. You always get it granted for some years, and then someone might take it away. If I can continue doing what I’m doing and somehow can make this work with my family, that would be perfect. That would be my dream. The one thing that I’m never sure is going to work out is working successfully in research and, at the same time, Women in Computer Vision “So you have it already…”
