computers. Yet there are also tasks which are easy for computers, but difficult for people. ECCV Daily: Which feature do you admire the most in a computer? If you could take a feature from a computer and use it in your mind, which one would you take? Simone: The computational power, perhaps, and the memory space. ECCV Daily: We also have a lot of memory space, but we know how to use only part of it. Which methods did you find to increase your own memory space? Simone: I think if you just use it all the time and train it! [she smiles] ECCV Daily: Do you see yourself more in teaching or more in industry? What dream would you like to achieve in the future? Simone: I want to add value to the community, so I think that it can be both. Research is important. I also like teaching because then you can spread the knowledge and more people can do something with it. ECCV Daily: What chance do you give to yourself to achieve this goal? Simone: I can achieve it. I just have to do it. ECCV Daily: Which things would you teach? Simone: I would teach students to be curious and not take everything as a given. Always ask questions. That’s what I learned during my university studies. ECCV Daily: If you wanted to give advice to a young woman who hesitates to enter the scientific profession and studies, what advice would you give her? Simone: Don’t be scared. There are a lot of nice people who support you. If you like what you do, then you should do it. ECCV Daily: Do you like what you do? Simone: Yes. I do it and I like it! “ I can achieve it.
