43 Computer Vision News Computer Vision News Shmulik spotted two key trends: a new line of disposable solutions getting out to the market and AI in urology becoming more of a reality. “Four or five years ago, it was only a dream and a buzz talking about AI,” he recalls. “Today, we see it getting more and more into the solutions and the next generation of products, in different aspects of the market. That’s a great blessing because there’s no doubt that these tools can assist in the workflow and diagnostic issues of urology all across the board.” RSIP Vision is a regular visitor to the AUA Annual Meeting, bringing the most advanced technologies it has developed, including innovations like MRI and ultrasound fusion solutions, automated segmentation of organs and tumors, and AI engines for lesion detection and classification. Shmulik noted a growing acceptance and interest in these technologies, with ongoing projects aimed at integrating AI into next-generation medical devices. Accompanied by Arik Rond, RSIP Vision’s very own expert in urological AI, the visit was also an opportunity to learn and network. “It was great being with Arik again,” he smiles. “Arik is a great team member and a real expert in urological AI. I think one of the leading in the world. He’s very modest and would never say that, but I will! Also, he has a lot of respect for the technical teams of the large manufacturers. They already know him, so having these meetings together is great.” The pair observed significant progress in robotic and endoscopic systems, promising to bring advanced surgical capabilities not there in the market today. Endoscopic systems are harnessing the power of AI and becoming smarter, while the hardware itself is constantly improving, particularly in image quality. Better images mean the algorithms can work better, leading to enhanced diagnostic accuracy and improved treatment options for patients. Comparing the progress of urology to that of cardiology, where AI is already widespread, Shmulik points RSIP Vision at AUA
