16 Women in Computer Vision Yes, I did my bachelor's at the University of Tabriz. I have strong roots there. I think it's like the biggest feminist movement happening in the world now. I think it’s worth mentioning here because we are talking about women in science, and this is something that we are proud to advocate for diversity. We will talk about that in a minute. But before, you were talking about Sweden. Did you go to Sweden to do your master's? Yes, I went to Sweden to continue my education and to get a master's degree in 2008. That was the point I left Iran. I stayed there for two years before moving to the Netherlands for my PhD. Do you visit Iran often? this complex word. I know that you were not born in Holland. You come from another place. I'm from Iran originally, from a western part of Iran called Kurdistan, or a Kurdish area in Iran. It’s a very mountainous area, so I’m having a bit of a hard time in the Netherlands, which is so flat. [ laughs ] Were you born in a village? Not a village but a small town. I was born there, and I was there until I was 18 years old. And then, I started my university in another city, which is a bit north of Iran, in the province of Azerbaijan in Iran. I studied for my bachelor's there in electrical engineering and communication. Telecommunication engineering, back in time. Then I moved to Sweden for my master's. Did you study at Tabriz University?
