50 Summer School on... Now in its third edition, the Summer School on Deep Learning for Medical Imaging was launched in 2019 in Lyon, France. Its second edition was held virtually last year. Its goal is to bring people working globally inmedical imaging together for an interactive deep dive into the world of AI. It is aimed at those who have little or no knowledge in that area but are keen to learn the fundamentals. “ University classes can be 45 hours long and span 15 weeks,” Pierre-Marc tells us. SUMMER SCHOOL ON DEEP LEARNING FOR MEDICAL IMAGING Pierre-Marc Jodoin is a Full Professor at the University of Sherbrooke in Canada and the co-founder and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at Imeka Solutions, a neuroimaging company dedicated to developing software for gauging the quality of the brain’s white matter to improve treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. On top of this, Pierre-Marc is co- organizing this year’s Summer School on Deep Learning for Medical Imaging (DLMI) in Montréal. He is here to tell us what we can expect from the event in July.
