Computer Vision News - February 2021

232 ICPR Workshop The first edition of the Workshop on Computational Aspects of Deep Learning (CADL 2020) has been held virtually on January, 11. The workshop has been organized in conjunction with ICPR 2020 by Lorenzo Baraldi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Frederic Pariente (NVIDIA, Deputy Directory of NVAITC in EMEA), Claudio Baecchi (University of Florence), and Iuri Frosio (NVIDIA). All this was in 2021, of course! Deep Learning has radically changed our research methodology towards a data-oriented approach, in which learning involves all steps of the prediction pipeline. In this new reality, the optimization and careful design of neural architectures play an increasingly important role which affects the research pace and the effectiveness and applicability of Deep Learning models.
