3D Slicer 17 Volume loading 3D Slicer can read several types of files including DICOM and nifty volumes, a set of landmarks in .fcsv format or a pre-made transform in .h5 format, a segmentation in .nrrd format and many others. To do that, one only needs to click on the DATA icon on the left, and the “ Add data into the scene ” window will pop up, where you can select files by the “ Choose File(s) to Add ” button. For any type of data, an automatic description of the type of file will appear on the right, which you can modify by choosing between a set of other options. The volume will appear in the conventional 3D Slicer setting, which includes a 3D view on the top layer and the 2D Slices (axial-sagittal-coronal) on the bottom one. Using the mouse wheel, you can play with the contrast, and to change slice you can click on the control slider to see the position changing. Image registration Among all modules, the registration ones appear to be among the most useful. Once loaded two images following the aforementioned steps, we can then just choose Landmark registration from the modules available. This action will first launch a little box to choose which of the loaded images will be treated as fixed reference and which will need transformation. Then, the displayed panel will slightly change from the standard 3D Slicer window. It will look similar to the figure below.
