When asked why European researchers seem to collaborate more easily with other European researchers than with foreign academics, Su-Lin suspects this might be due to permissions about data. Recent GDPR legislation , introduced to protect patient data, makes it easier to share data with other scientists who are subject to the same rules, especially when trying to have research developed into a product. Su-Lin wants to conclude her presentation with a big shoutout to her professional service team: “They are absolutely fantastic! I have certainly not made their lives easier when I came onboard with new ideas, but their response was absolutely brilliant!”
