Computer Vision News - August 2019
May I share with our readers that at the beginning of the interview, Adriyana wondered if her profile was interesting enough for an interview! [laughs] If you met the young, sixteen-year-old girl you were in Indonesia, with what you know now, what advice would you give her? I think the advice that I would give is to stay open-minded and try everything. I would also say: “Be more social!” [laughs] Were you social enough? I think so, but I think of myself as an introvert actually. I don’t feel like someone who can gather a crowd and entertain everyone. I think at the personal level, I can be quite amicable. Wow! That sounds great for scuba diving! Yeah, of course! Do you still feel Indonesian? Have you started to feel European? Where is your home now? I always like to think that my home is Indonesia, especially because my parents are still there. Every year, I always say that I’m going home, which means I’m going to Indonesia to my parents’ house. I do feel that my perspective and way of thinking doesn’t fully align anymore with how a typical Indonesian would think. I also feel a bit like a global citizen. Tell us something that we don’t know about Indonesia! We don’t come out much in the international news. In Indonesia now, we are really growing at a fast pace. It’s how China was a few years ago. For industry, it’s quite an interesting place for startups over there. I think it’s a very interesting environment right now for investment. It’s a very quickly developing country. It’s worth a visit. We have many beautiful places, many beautiful beaches. It’s an archipelago. There are more than 17,000 islands. “stay open-minded and try everything” “Be more social!” I think at the personal level, I can be quite amicable. I also feel a bit like a global citizen.
