Computer Vision News: Julia, tell us more about yourself. Julia Schnabel: I studied my first degree in Computer Science in Berlin . Through that, I became interested in medical imaging at a very early stage. I did my Master’s project on a small medical imaging application. That led me to do a PhD in London in medical imaging . That’s what I have been doing ever since. I’ve been in the field for over 20 years and now I am a professor in computational imaging in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London . I also look after a Center for Doctoral Training in medical imaging which is run jointly between King’s and Imperial College London . It’s a four year training program, and we hope to push through 20 Computer Vision News Women in Computer Vision Julia A.
