Veronika Cheplygina: It’s a society with different types of people working in these areas. It includes researchers, but also people in industry. This year is the society’s 35th anniversary. There are about 300 members. All of us are also members of the International Association of Pattern Recognition which is a worldwide entity. We are the regional part of that. We have a board of five members, and I am on the board. We meet twice a year when we organize a meeting, and then we invite all of the members and anybody else who might be interested. Event 34 Computer Vision News Computer Vision Events The Fall Meeting of the NVPHBV - Dutch Society of Pattern Recognition and Image Processing Veronika Cheplygina is a postdoctoral researcher at the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam, Erasmus Medical Center, and a member of the NVPHBV board. Veronika: We sponsor it ourselves. Many of us have academic affiliations so we can get a place for the symposium. Members pay a small contribution each year, so we have a little money to buy lunch and other things for the event. CVN: What are the goals of this operation?
