The NSF CAREER Award is mostly about what I am planning to do in my research career as an assistant professor. It’s about how to link computer vision with robotics. My research is not just about computer vision. It’s an intersection of computer vision with robotics. Most of the time what we are thinking about is how to build computer vision algorithms in a way that is useful for robots to plan their actions on top of that.
