skills into manageable parts, I’ve always liked that way of thinking. There’s a similar approach in cognitive psychology. We think we know ourselves, but psychology shows us that we don’t understand what’s actually going on in our minds. How do people use heuristics in order to make mental rules that work most of the time but can fail in a funny way some of the time? How do we pick those apart to understand the little assumptions and rules that are carrying us through our everyday life? I just think that’s really interesting to get to know yourself better. ” To learn more about Madeleine’s work, you can view her presentation and PDF poster now, and take part in her live Q&A during Paper Session Eight (Wednesday) at 22:00-00:30 EDT. 13 DAILY CVPR Wednesday Madeleine Grunde-McLaughlin
